Loving Spring Weather.

This time of year, I love to start messing with all of my house plants, mostly angel plants. They seem to work well with plant dummies like myself. LOL. I take alot of the long stems coming off the plants, break them right above a notch and place the pieces in a clear jar with water.

I let them sit in my window seals and wait for them to root. One of my best friends has helped me with this process by breaking off pieces of her "mother" plant and rooting them in this way for me. We now live hours away from one another but she can answer my questions over the phone and keep me on track.

My pieces have been sitting for a week now, and starting to root. I had a couple of containers get cloudy looking, but I simply dump the jar and rinse all of the plants off, put them back into the water filled container and wait.........

I will try to figure out how to post some pictures of my containers, once I figure that out.

  1. Oh, my! I am so bad at plants! I take after my mom :) My grandma was always so good with them, so I'm not sure what happened to us. Maybe my daughter will be good with them.

    1. Christy, I so understand. But, with about 400 species of exotic angel plants, its easy. I killed every kind of plant I ever bought, eventually. But, with these plants anyone can do what I'm doing. The next time you go into lowes or walmart look at the plants. Its well worth buying one, and then starting with that one to try to make pieces grow. I am so surprised at how easy these plants are to manage. Thanks for following me too. I will be posting more about my plants and pictures hopefully today.

  2. I love plants! I like to think I have a green thumb but I'm sure my plants disagree! It's probably strange but in my family we name our plants! It started with my dad and I've continued with the tradition. My mom & sister are plant killers. So of the ones they haven't killed I have Bob(a palm tree), Robertaleito(a palm tree), Carlos(a Christmas Cactus), Bam Bam(a bamboo plant) and Ted(a spider plant) left.

    1. Sam, this sounds like me too. I have mine named, and I do talk to them. I did discover that if I kinda left them alone and water them maybe once every 2 weeks, they do great. I always killed mine with kindness. Over watering, under watering, or just forgetting to water them at all.

Location is key to having a plant succeed. I have for 3 years now moved my plants around making sure it had adequate sun light. I put plants where I thought they looked good, but soon figured out it doesn't work that way. It sounds like you have many plants that haven't died so your getting better for sure. Thanks for stopping by, and thanks for being a new follower.
